Hello, hola, shalom and bonjour!
I am a multilingual speech and language therapist, trained to evaluate and treat children, of all ages, who speak English, Spanish, Hebrew and French.
I received a Bachelor of Social Work degree (B.S.W.) from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. I then obtained a Master of Science degree (M.S.) in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a bilingual-bicultural focus from Teachers College, Columbia University in Manhattan, New York.
My areas of focus are language development and bilingualism. I believe that every family as the right to raise their children bilingually and that being bilingual does not cause language delays. When a child is bilingual, I work on building a strong language foundation in English as well as his/her home language. Language development is the key to navigating our world. No matter how old we are, we need to master language to complete daily tasks. Requesting help, playing with a friend outside, reading a book, learning new vocabulary in history class, answering questions about our day, following directions given to us by a parent or teacher, and even answering a math problem ALL require having strong language skills. In my work, I fuse my passion for advocacy, counseling and multiculturalism with my love of languages to empower your child to speak up and achieve success, at home and in school.
